Day 2. September 30th, 2019.
Nokonoshima Island, Fukuoka.
In order to get to this island, I have to take the Subway train from Tenjin Station (The nearest train station from my Airbnb.) to Meinohama Station for about 15 minutes. If I’m not mistaken, the fare is JPY 300.
Since I’ve found out that they provide a Fukuoka City Subway Pass specially for tourists, I’ve been using it since Day 1 without bothering how much will the fare be for every trip. 😎
This pass is for unlimited Subway rides that is only valid for 2 consecutive days, with the price of JPY 740.
Once I’ve arrived at the Meinohama Station, I have to walk to Showa bus stop and wait for the bus there. This bus will take me to the jetty terminal for my next ride to the island.
(Please take the station exit on your left. You can easily see the bus stop from that exit. 😊)
By the way, the bus fare is JPY 170.
Next, I had to catch a ferry that will take me to Nokonoshima Island. This return trip fare is only JPY 460 for a person. I think it will only take about 10 to 15 minutes to reach the island as I don’t even have time to mesmerize the beauty of Hakata Bay. 😏
That doesn’t stop there. 😌
As I reached the island jetty, I still have to take a bus so I can go see the garden right on top of the hill. The one way bus fare is JPY 230. I will still have to pay the same fare later on my way down the hill. This ride is only about 5 minutes but expects it to be a bumpy ride. 😣
I know, guys!
Too much money to spend for the sake of this island. 🤐
Personally, I think it was worth it. The garden is quite big and filled with a lot of beautiful plants!
There are so many Instagram worthy spots. 😁
(Well, you know me!)
I’ve spent almost the whole day here taking #ootd photos (And the scenery, of course). LOL.
Don’t forget to pay JPY 1,200 as the park entrance too! 😂
This garden would have different flowers for different seasons.
You can find the early-blooming Cosmos during the mid of October and the late-blooming Cosmos from late October to early November. You can see the beautiful Maple trees during Autumn in November.
As for me, I can only see the Scarlet Sage as this flower blooms from August to early December. 😍
Day 2. September 30th, 2019.
Fukuoka Tower, Fukuoka.
Moving on to the next attraction!
I had to travel by train and bus to see this tower. From the last stop, Meinohama Station, I had to wait for the Subway train to go to Fujisaki Station.
(Again, free train ride for me! Yay.)
From this train station, I had to pay JPY 230 to ride the bus to Fukuoka Tower.
I have decided not to enter this tower. 😅
Obviously, you have to pay for the entrance fee.
The price is JPY 800 for adults, JPY 500 for children and JPY 200 for kids under 4 years.
I am actually a big fan of towers. I would love to enter those skyscrapers, simply because I want to be the one who climbs up the significant tower.
Since Fukuoka is a budget trip, I have to skip this for now. I would rather save my money for Sushi later. 😆
So, I’ve walked around the tower and found the man-made beach called the Sea Side Momochi, next to the tower.
Nothing much. Nothing excites me here. Just a tower and a beach. 💁🏻♀️
